Каждый из нас стремится иметь собственный дом, квартиру, место, где можно расслабиться и быть самим собой. Именно поэтому люди тратят столько денег, сил и энергии, чтобы сделать свой уголок уютным, комфортным. У каждого из нас есть свое представление об атмосфере, об идеальном доме. Мы часто хвастаемся друзьям о новых и современных приобретениях в жилище, рассказываем о планах, мечтах. Научиться составлять описание о доме на английском языке просто необходимо, ведь это один из ключевых моментов нашей жизни.

Кто-то живет один, кто-то с родителями или собственной семьей. Кто-то любит маленькие квартиры, где все на виду и под рукой, а кто-то предпочитает пространство. Исходя из этого, мы выбираем место проживания. Составить описание дома на английском языке довольно легко. Прежде всего, необходимо использовать вводные фразы, что значит дом для вас. Можно употреблять пословицы, которых немало по этой теме, высказать свою точку зрения по ним. Затем постепенно переходить к деталям: количество этажей, комнат, расположение. Если вы хотите составить топик «Дом моей мечты», то используйте тот же принцип. Можно добавить несколько экзотических деталей. Например, стеклянные стены, крыша, все, на что хватит вашей фантазии.

First of all I must say that I am most concerned about the place where I live. It doesn’t matter wheather my house is small or large, modern or old. The atmosphere is more important. It should be a place you want to stay and want to return to. I agree with the proverb: «East or West home is best». Your house must be a place where you can relax, come back with pleasure.

Now I’d like to say a few words about my house. So, I live on the outskirts of the town.  It is rather far from the centre of the city and what is more important it is far from traffic. I have a detached house. I like fresh air. My house is surrounded by trees, bushes and there are many flowers and a pond in the garden. It is one-storeyed building. The house has the back entrance. It is a terrace. There are 4 rooms on the ground floor. It is a living room, two bedrooms and a study-room. Also there is a large kitchen, a bathroom and a small enterance hall. We have all modern conveniences, such as heating, electricity, gas, hot and cold running water and a telephone. Of course we don’t have a chute.

Our living room is the largest one. There is a large window, a window-door, a TV set, a sofa, two armchairs  and a fireplace. We like to gather together in winter here watching the fire and talking about everything. The kitchen is rather small. But there is everything what is necessary: a round table, a cupboard, a fridge, a cooker. Also there is a big aquarium. I like to spend time in my bedroom. It is a big room where you can find a large bed, a wardrobe, a mirror and an armchair. Other bedroom is smaller. There is a bed, a wardrobe, a table and a chair. The computer and bookshelves are in the study. My bathroom provides me with convenience. There is a nice mirror, a rack for towels, a bath-tab and a basin. The entrance hall is small. There is a hall-stand and a mirror. The telephone is on a special table under the mirror. I try to keep my flat clean.

Of course, I am looking forward to improving my household conditions. I hope it is not in a distant future. I like my house. It is comfortable and cosy. Everything here is dear and precious to me. Many pleasant and happy moments of my life are connected with my home. I believe that the house starts to be the home when it is warmed by the people who live in it, isn’t it?
